An Introduction to the season
Dear Horsford Cricket Club Member,
Welcome to the 2021 cricket season.
I am sure you are aware that the UK government have given the green light for the 2021 season to commence, therefore we have prepared the following email to try and outline Horsford CC’s 2021 senior season and our plans moving forward through the year – an introduction to the season.
As with previous years the club will be entering 4 senior teams in their respective, East Anglian Premier League (EAPL), Norfolk Cricket Alliance (NCA) and Norfolk Cricket League (NCL) competitions. There will be no overseas player for the club this season – for obvious reasons!
The 1st XI will this year be captained by Jason Reynolds and will participate in the EAPL along with 11 other teams. League fixtures start with a home match against Bury St Edmunds CC on Saturday 17th April.

The team will play their fixtures in the NCA Division 4 with 9 other teams. Their league fixtures start with a home match against Winterton CC on Saturday 1st May.

As in previous seasons the captains of the respective teams will get in contact with individual players directly regarding availability and selection.
There will be restrictions in place regarding playing conditions, changing facilities and teas, this will be covered in a separate email to follow shortly, which will specifically outline Covid protocols for the season.
Inline with government guidelines, unfortunately spectators are not currently permitted at matches. As and when guidance changes we will be the first to let you know and welcome spectators back to Manor Park.
Current government guidelines state that the bar can only operate with outside table service, therefore until guidelines change the bar will remain closed. We will update you as and when government guidance changes.
As stated in a previous email, subscriptions fees are due for the season, fees have remained the same as follows;
|Adult playing members
|Junior/Student playing members

Covid guidelines obviously restrict any social events the club can organise and run. We are keen to run social events at Manor Park at the soonest possible opportunity, as soon as guidelines allow we certainly be planning a long overdue get together.
It will come as no shock that the pandemic has caused the last 12 months to be a financially challenging period for the club. We are pleased to report that the club finances are stable and we are hopeful that this will be the case come the end of the season. However, things will be tight throughout the season and resources will need to be spent carefully and thoughtfully. You can be reassured that we will continue to operate diligently, within the clubs means, throughout this season and best protect the financial security of the club for future years.
If members are aware of any potential income revenues or opportunities we would welcome any suggestions.
The pandemic has hit many companies hard, thus minimising our sponsorship income for the season. The club are in a position where we need multiple new sponsors for the season. Therefore we are asking all members and players to assist in sourcing potential sponsors for the season. Workplaces, family businesses, self-employed businesses can all benefit from sponsor opportunities within the club. Interested parties can learn more by contacting Alex Lincoln (email@example.com or 07584886000). An information sheet can also be downloaded here HCC Sponsor Leaflet. If we can source just a few more sponsors it will greatly help cover the running costs of the club.
As the committee responsible for looking after the best interests of Horsford Cricket Club we are always on the lookout for fresh faces and help. If you are interested in joining the committee and helping with a variety of roles within the club then please contact club secretary Dave Masdin (firstname.lastname@example.org 07944 965457).
We are hopeful that the 2021 season pans out to be successful on and of the pitch for Horsford CC. There promises to be plenty of cricket ahead, with long overdue reunions and plenty of laughs. We are grateful for your continued support as players, members, supporters and sponsors.
